Upon arrival in Lushoto, you will be welcomed to the scenic town nestled in the Usambara Mountains. Depending on your arrival time, you can either take a short, relaxing walk to Kisasa Waterfalls, a beautiful spot perfect for unwinding and enjoying the natural beauty of the region, or simply rest at your accommodation in Lushoto, preparing for the adventure ahead. This evening is free for leisure, and you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a quiet evening in this tranquil mountain setting.
Overnight Stay: Lushoto Pazuri / Jua Zuri
After a restful night, begin your day with a hearty breakfast before heading out to Magamba Nature Reserve for a guided hike. As you explore this protected area, you’ll walk through lush forests, spotting diverse wildlife and exotic plant species, including rare Usambara banana trees and various bird species. The trek is not only a nature walk but also a cultural experience as your guide shares insights about the local ecosystem. In the afternoon, enjoy a delightful coffee tour at a local plantation, where you’ll learn about the region’s rich coffee-growing history, from cultivation to processing, and finish off with a fresh brew of locally grown coffee. After a full day of exploration, you’ll return to Lushoto or stay at a nearby lodge for the night.

After breakfast, your hike continues as you head to the Rangwi Sisters Convent, a historic site perched on the slopes of Mount Usambara. The convent is a peaceful retreat, offering visitors a chance to reflect and appreciate the calm atmosphere. After touring the convent, you can either take a short walk around the area or simply relax and enjoy the tranquility. On the final day of your hiking adventure, you’ll set off in the morning for a trek to the breathtaking Mambo Viewpoint, one of the most famous spots in the Usambara Mountains. The hike to the viewpoint offers stunning vistas, and once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, valleys, and the vast landscape. It’s the perfect spot for taking photos and reflecting on the beauty of the region.
