ITINERARY:

EARLY MORNING DEPARTURE FROM DAR ES SALAAM

Your adventure begins early in the morning as we depart from Dar es Salaam at 3:00 AM. Our experienced driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in a comfortable 4x4 safari vehicle. As we leave the bustling city behind, we embark on a scenic drive towards Mikumi National Park, approximately a 5-6 hour journey. Along the way, you will witness the changing landscapes and local villages, offering a glimpse into the rural life of Tanzania.

ARRIVAL AND MORNING GAME DRIVE

We arrive at Mikumi National Park by mid-morning. After a brief check-in at the park entrance, we start our morning game drive. Mikumi National Park, often referred to as a mini Serengeti, is renowned for its rich wildlife and diverse habitats. As we traverse the park's open plains, woodland, and savannah, keep your eyes peeled for sightings of elephants, giraffes, zebras,buffaloes, and the iconic baobab trees that dot the landscape.

LUNCH AT MIKUMI WILDLIFE CAMP

Around 1:00 PM, we will break for lunch at Mikumi National Park Restaurant, located within the park. Enjoy a delicious meal while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding wilderness. The camp offers a serene setting to relax and recharge before we continue our safari adventure.

AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE

After lunch, we embark on an afternoon game drive, exploring different areas of the park. This is an excellent time to spot predators such as lions, leopards, and hyenas, as they become more active during the cooler hours. Bird enthusiasts will also be delighted by the park's diverse avian population, including species such as the lilac-breasted roller, bateleur eagle, and yellow-throated long claw.

VISIT TO THE HIPPO POOLS

One of the highlights of Mikumi National Park is the hippo pools, where you can observe these massive creatures wallowing in the water alongside various species of waterbirds. The pools provide an excellent

opportunity for photography and close-up wildlife viewing.

SCENIC DRIVE BACK TO DAR ES SALAAM

As the sun begins to set, we start our journey back to Dar es Salaam. Enjoy the changing colors of the sky and the tranquil ambiance as we drive through the park and surrounding countryside. We aim to arrive back in the city by late evening, around 7:00 PM, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
